Privacy Policy
Neon Tanks is made by Sharif Sharipov, an independent developer ("I", "me"). This policy covers the Neon Tanks app on iPhone, iPad and Android and the free version on this website. The short version: there are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. The game only sends what it needs to run online rooms and community maps.
What the game sends, and why
| Data | When | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Your callsign (the nickname you type) | When you create or join an online room, or publish a map | So other players in the room see who is who, and so maps show their author |
| Gameplay data: tank class, controls you press, positions, scores | While you play in an online room | To run the shared game. It is sent to the other players in your room and is not stored |
| Maps you publish: map name, layout and callsign | Only when you press "Publish map" | So anyone can find and play them under Community Maps |
| A random session ID | While you are in an online room | To tell players apart. A new one is made each time you open the game; it isn't linked to you or your device |
Solo games, the level editor and test play run entirely on your device and send nothing.
What stays on your device
Your callsign, tank class, chosen style, volume, control bindings and whether you own the full version are saved only on your device. Deleting the app (or clearing this website's data) removes them.
Online rooms and network addresses
Online rooms connect players directly to each other where possible, and otherwise relay the game through a server. As with any online game, the devices and servers involved see your device's network (IP) address while you are connected. Public connection-helper servers are used to set up those direct connections. I don't store network addresses or use them to identify you. Room messages are not kept after the room closes.
Purchases
The full version is a one-time purchase handled entirely by Apple's App Store or Google Play. I never see your name, email or payment details. The app only asks the store whether your store account owns the unlock.
Service providers
The website, the online-room service and the community map list run on infrastructure from third-party hosting and database providers. They process the data above only to provide that service to me.
No tracking, no ads
The game doesn't track you across other apps or websites, doesn't show ads, and doesn't sell or share your data with data brokers or advertisers.
Children
Neon Tanks doesn't ask for anyone's age or real name and collects no personal information beyond the callsign a player chooses. Players should pick a callsign that isn't their real name.
Removing a map or your data
To have a published map removed, or for any privacy question, email trackmyreceipt@gmail.com with the map name or link. I'll reply within 30 days.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
